Bodies in Urban Spaces

Here’s a really cool video. It’s titled “Bodies in urban spaces” with concept and choreography by Willi Dorner. If the people in American Apparel ads wore clothing this could be a nice guerilla opportunity for them. Come to think of it, if this were an ad for American Apparel I probably wouldn’t be sharing it or labeling it as “cool.” Enjoy.

Recognizing White Walls

When I first moved out here I did a ton of exploring to familiarize myself with the city. While walking around one day I came across a really cool graphite illustration of a man wearing a Yankees cap and smoking a cigarette. It was the first memorable piece of street art I had seen since arriving in San Francisco and something that I will always associate with adjusting to my new west coast life. Since that first poster (above) I’ve been fortunate to find “wheat paste face,” as I like to call him, all over the city. Here is the evidence:

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled across White Walls Gallery on Larkin Street…and JACKPOT! The posters were not just random wild postings, but an awesome guerilla extension of a show by Hugh Leeman and Michael Holman titled “Recognition.” The name is fitting now, considering that I will never forget.
